Thinking of 50 years later with the first step to the new millennium

After 50 years later from now, it will be about 2050. Young people now around 20 years old will be around 70. Adding 50 years to each one’s age, imagine that world as if it is now.
Probably, it is difficult for us to imagine it.

It would be wartime, trouble with food shortages, devastated towns and various kinds of hardships when 70 years old people are looking back 50 years now.
But the important thing is that young people around 20 years old were mobilised into the war, the purpose of this country regardless of gender. And tens of thousands of young people bit the dust. There was even no way to make their wishes known.

By the defeat in the war, Japanese society has changed dramatically.
Before and after the defeat in the war, I think that the general public could not imagine the next 50 years in the situation at that time. And we hardly had enough to keep body and soul together.

How about nowadays?
This year, year 2001 is the year of the first step, the milestone of the history of mankind.
How the world should be in the new century.
It should be creation of eternal global peace. Manseikan Aikido is the land mark of it.

The teachings of the Aikido Founder, Morihei Ueshiba
"Aiki is Love. Making up our mind by the heart in the universe (Tenchi no Kokoro) and fulfilling the personal mission by the great spirit of universal kindness (Banyu Aigo no Daiseishin) should be the path of martial arts."
Now I pledge the day 50 years later that we say "Now we could achieve the mind that we set as a goal and we have been intoning every day".
